Stop CSS companies
Open Letter to Commissioners and Committee:
Subject: CCS Carbon Capture and Sequestration projects – Alluding to permanent geological storage of carbon dioxide
I am writing to urge you to Stop these organized CCS companies from flippantly polluting our precious farm grounds – including the Greystone capitol backed firm, Vault 44.01 Project.
CCS is only as contained, in as far, as the weakest crack or maybe a tremor or shake and then our ground is in ruins. It can’t be made whole again. We have a fault line running thru here for crying out loud. Please review the summary below – see Darke County’s RANKING in the State of Ohio. Our farms make a difference – Darke County crops, livestock and poultry are a BIG DEAL.
The following are from the State of Ohio Annual Bulletin, December 2023 – USDA Livestock and Crop RANKINGS for 2023, and the 2017 Census – Page 58. Some of Darke County Ag Rankings for the entire State of Ohio: Corn 1; Soybeans 4; Wheat 8; Cattle and Calves 4; Milk Cows 7. And although Poultry and Eggs are not Ranked, their Cash Receipts from 2017 Census is displayed as $186,813,000.
Again, I urge you to protect us, as only you can, from these Fat Cat CCS companies.
Cordially,
Pamela Cole, Landowner
