NEW MADISON — Tri-Village High School hosted the Patriot Cross Country Invitational on September 24. Eight schools competed at the mid-week invitational.
For the Ansonia boys, senior Ethan Sparks took first place with a time of 17:49.8. Sophomore Wyatt Unrast took fourth with a time of 18:41.20 and junior Luken Longenecker took sixth with a 18:57.6. For Arcanum, junior Malachi Wright took seventh with a time of 18:57.9. Senior Owen Netherly took eighth with a 19:21.2 and junior Micah Arbogast took ninth with a 19:38.8. For Tri-Village, junior Chris Brinley took 15th with a 20:12.0. Junior Brady Beisner took 19th with a 20:52.1 and freshman Nolan Blackford took 22nd with a 21:06.4.
For the girls race, Arcanum freshman Ella Warren took first place with a time of 23:03.5. Freshman Brynn Byers took second with a time of 23:26.6 and freshman Kennedy Hayes took fourth with a 24:23.7. For Ansonia, junior Olivia Creager took third with a 23:59.8. Sophomore Alexa Kreiner took 11th with a 26:59.6 and junior Jenna Mosler took 15th with a 35:11.8. For Tri-Village, sophomore Zilah Strayer took 14th with a 30:39.1.
