GREENVILLE — EverHeart Hospice is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Julia Bowlin as its future Medical Director and full-time physician. Dr. Bowlin, a distinguished local physician with extensive experience, has served the Darke County community for over 24 years in her primary care practice, following her earlier tenure in Mount Airy, N.C. Her dedication to patient care is matched by her diverse expertise as a physician, author, certified coach, and the founder of Personal Awareness Medicine™.
Throughout her career, Dr. Bowlin has cared for patients and contributed to the medical education of students and residents. As a past medical director of Versailles Medical Center and of her allergy practice, she has shaped the future of healthcare in our region. She comes to EverHeart most recently from Family Health Services of Darke County where she has cared for patients in the Greenville and Versailles area for the last 11 years.
Dr. Bowlin will begin her new role with EverHeart in early October.
Dr. Bowlin’s appointment comes as part of a carefully planned succession strategy following the anticipated retirement of Dr. Edward Hosbach, the current Medical Director at EverHeart Hospice. Dr. Hosbach has been a pivotal figure at EverHeart and has expressed his intention to retire as EverHeart Hospice’s Medical Director within the next few years. In response to this transition, Dr. Bowlin will work closely with Dr. Hosbach to ensure a smooth and effective handover of Medical Director responsibilities.
Dr. Bowlin will officially join EverHeart Hospice full-time in the next few months. She will dedicate herself to learning all aspects of the Chief Medical Officer/Medical Director role under the guidance of Dr. Hosbach. Dr. Bowlin previously served as a hospice medical director early in her career and has been contributing as a physician designee with EverHeart Hospice for the past year. Her extensive experience and commitment to hospice care make her an excellent fit for the role.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Dr. Julia Bowlin to our team,” said Kristi Strawser, CEO at EverHeart Hospice. “Dr. Bowlin’s deep roots in our community and her expertise in hospice care are invaluable assets as we prepare for the future. We are confident that she will bring exceptional leadership to our organization.”
Dr. Bowlin concluded her practice at Family Health in August before fully dedicating herself to EverHeart Hospice. Dr. Hosbach will continue to be involved as a physician designee following Dr. Bowlin’s transition to the Medical Director role, ensuring continuity and stability during this period of change.
EverHeart Hospice is committed to providing the highest quality of care to patients and families, and adding Dr. Bowlin to their team reinforces their dedication to excellence in hospice care.
