High school bands and choirs to perform this weekend

DARKE COUNTY – On Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12 several local high school band and choirs will be performing at the District 11 Large Group Adjudicated Event.

The musical groups will perform before a panel of well-respected judges. They receive comments on their performance and are given a rating. After all aspects of the performance are completed if the ensemble earns a superior rating, they will qualify for the state level of this event.

The Arcanum Band will perform Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Sidney High School. They also have an upcoming concert on March 15 at 7:30 p.m. that includes the choir and jazz band.

The Greenville Symphonic Band will be performing at 4 p.m. at Sidney High School followed by the Wind Ensemble at 5:30 p.m.

The Greenville Concert Choir is performing Friday evening at 8:20 p.m. at Bellefontaine High School.

The Tri-Village Choir will be performing Saturday afternoon at 1:40 p.m. at Bellefontaine High School. They and the Tri-Village Band have a concert scheduled for May 24 at 7 p.m.

The Versailles Band will take the stage at Sidney High School at 8 p.m. Friday evening. Their spring concert is set for May 9 at 7 p.m.

The Versailles Choir will perform Saturday at Bellefontaine High School at 10:20 a.m. Their show choir, Encore, will present a program on May 12 and the Spring Choral Concert will be on May 16th with both starting at 7:30 p.m.

The Ansonia Band and Choir, though not performing this weekend, have a concert scheduled for March 21 at 7 p.m.
