GREENVILLE — The Oakley Festival Parade is set to arrive downtown Greenville at 10 a.m. on July 30.

“We are so excited about the Annie Oakley Festival Parade,” said President JoEllen Melling. “We are staging at the Darke County Fairgrounds, and will leave there, to arrive downtown Greenville in front of the Darke County Courthouse at approximately 10 a.m. Saturday.

The committee continues to ask for any organizations that would like to be in the parade to contact Jennifer Peck for an application for the parade, or go onto the website, and print out the application from there.

“We decided this year to make the parade absolutely free for all of those who wish to participate in the parade,” Melling said. “We would like to see 125 units in our parade this year, if not more. This is a Darke County, Ohio, event, and we encourage all towns in Darke County to be involved in the parade.”

The committee is inviting Boy Scout or Girl Scout Troop, church groups, businesses, and 4-H groups, school clubs, etc., to participate.

“We would love to see you in the parade. Help us make the 2016 Annie Oakley Parade a huge success by participating and being an active part in the parade,” she said.

Additional information and the schedule of events is listed on the website: www.annieoakleyfestival.org.
