DAV planning Veterans Day parade

GREENVILLE — Darke County Chapter No. 57 Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Inc. is planning the Veterans Day morning parade for Friday, Nov. 11.

All will meet at 9:45 a.m. in front of the Greenville Public Library to march to the courthouse for the ceremony and remembrance at precisely 11:11 a.m.

“Please join us behind the banner held by our DAV members and ROTC members, said Robert A. Foster, commander of the DAV.

The route will start on Sycamore Street and continue to Fifth Street then left on to Broadway, stopping in front of the Court House and the Veterans memorial.

There at just before 11:11 a.m., the prayers will be read by Past Commander and Chaplain of American Legion 140 Ken Price, then the Honor Guard will salute veterans’ with a firing of a volley and rendering of taps,

Next, the Commander of Chapter #57 will place of the wreath at the memorial, ending the ceremony.

Then the parade will continue to Third Street and back to the starting point.
