Mercer Band coming to church

UNION CITY, Ohio — Pete Mercer Band will be ministering in music and word at the Word of Life Worship Center, 1395 Ellis Road, near here at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19.

The band is made up of all family who have been in the music ministry for many, many years. They are known for bringing an atmosphere of heaven wherever they go. They understand how worship can literally change lives in the midst of God’s presence and love, and they desire one thing: To lift high the name of Jesus and make Him known to the world.

The ministering team consists of Pete, his parents, Terry and Debbie, his sister, Sarah and husband Ray Lutz. Their verse from Psalms says, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.”

That is the gift God has given this talented family to share with the world.

Pete is a 2003 graduate of Union City Community High School and has been sharing his musical talent at Freedom Life Church in Winchester, Indiana, for 10 years, serving as worship leader. His wife, Cristen, and two children, Brayden, 9, and Lyrik, 15 months, already follow in their father’s footsteps.

The Mercers offer churches a trio of choices and “services of refreshing,” for local worship teams to sit back and soak up God’s goodness in uplifting music and preaching of the Word of God. They enjoy old hymns as well as performing contemporary Christian songs to reach the elder generations and the youth, a new twist, but the same message.

Pastor George Hughes invites the public to come and share in this uplifting ministry of music. For more information, call 765-730-0244. The church is located seven miles north on Stateline Road, and two miles east on Ellis Road from Union City.
