Elks dance to benefit research

UNION CITY, Ind. — Union City Elks No. 1534 will be holding its annual Cancer Research Dance: “Stroll Down Memory Lane for Cancer” on Saturday, Feb. 25.

Cost is $25 a person for the dinner and dance and $15 a person after 8 p.m. for auctions and dance only.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner is served at 6, with the auctions and entertainment starting at 8 p.m.

Music will be provided by The Green DeVilles, featuring Union City native Jeff Barga.

Senior prom theme and prom attire is optional. A prom king and queen will be selected at the dance.

Also featured will be raffles, prizes, live and silent auctions.

Among the raffles will be one for a Ruger American Rifle 22-inch synthetic stock with matte black barrel. Winner will have a choice of a 243, 308, 30-06, with the winner subject to a routine background check. Tickets will be sold at the Elks Lodge, the Union Cit Utilities Office and from any Cancer Committee members. Winner does not need to be present to win.

Tickets are on sale at the Elks Lodge at 1-765-964-5100. All proceeds, including the rifle raffle, will benefit cancer research.
