Cancer Association looking for volunteers

0

COLUMBUS — The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is looking for people in Ohio who care about cancer to become volunteers. Training will be provided.

New volunteers will be trained on the role public policy change can play in the fight against cancer and how to ensure their voice is heard by elected officials on issues such as cancer research, screening programs and tobacco control efforts.

ACS CAN, the advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society, has an Ambassador Constituent Team (ACT) in nearly every Congressional district in the country. These volunteer-led teams help manage ACS CAN’s grassroots activities at the community level. Volunteers are asked to help plan and attend media events, meet with state and federal lawmakers, recruit ACS CAN members and serve as a chairperson for American Cancer Society initiatives and events.

Contact us today to add your voice to the thousands of volunteers across the country who are joining together to make fighting cancer a national priority. Contact Lauren Coatoam at 888-227-6446, ext. 1217 or [email protected].
