Nursing students graduate

PIQUA — Thirteen students from the Upper Valley Career Center Adult Division Practical Nursing program graduated on July 16.

Recognition for honors went to Cynthia Nishwitz, Houston; Dawn Nichols, Laura; Sanjuanita Benitez, New Bremen; Amber Shira, Piqua; Ashley Thompson, Sidney; Erica Zimmerman, Tipp City; and Emily Magoto of Troy.

The 2015 School of Nursing graduates are as follows: Heather Whitley, Greenville; TJ Stocker, Houston; Cynthia Nishwitz, Laura; Dawn Nichols, New Bremen; Sanjuanita Benitez, Piqua; Shelly Knick, Kaylena Shaw and Amber Shira, Sidney; Leah Gifford and Ashley Thompson, Tipp City; Erica Zimmerman, Troy; Emily Magoto and Millicent Obinwa.

Upper Valley Career Center School of Nursing is located in the Upper Valley Career Center Health Science Center in Piqua. The school was established in 1979 and has graduated more than 800 nurses who work in extended care facilities, assisted living, physician offices, hospice, home care and limited hospital settings.

Students of the program prepare for the NCLEX-PN exam through classroom, hands-on lab skills, and clinical experiences. The Upper Valley Career Center Adult Division School of Nursing is accepting applications for the upcoming January 2016 program.
