Family Health open house was a success

NEW MADISON — Family Health’s recent open house at their new facility was deemed a success.

Dr. Sherry Adkins and her staff were pleased by how many people stopped by to formally welcome them to the community and get a tour.

Jean Young, executive director of Family Health, shared plans to add a nurse practitioner and additional staff in the next year.

“There are a number of people in the community who still need a family doctor,” Young said. “Adding a nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant will allow Dr. Adkins to meet the need.”

She shared how important it is to find high quality medical professionals who have ties to the area and encourages all high school students thinking about working in the medical profession to consider spending a day at Family Health job shadowing. This will give them a first-hand view of the positive impact of community health.

Dr. Adkins and her staff would like to thank Kristi Spille for providing hand-crafted cookies and Downing Fruit Farms for the apple cider for the open house.

Family Health looks forward to building healthy lives in the community for years to come. They are grateful to the Village of New Madison, Brumbaugh Construction, Mote & Associates, App Architecture, HRSA and all those who made this project possible.
