Man airlifted after being ejected from ATV

GREENVILLE – An 82-year-old man was airlifted Thursday after he was ejected from a John Deere Gator ATV he was driving while picking up trash alongside the road.

At approximately 3:06 p.m. Darke County deputies along with Ansonia Fire and Rescue and CareFlight responded to the 5700 block of Oliver Road.

The preliminary investigation revealed a Silver 1998 Dodge Caravan driven by Betsy Hall, 16, of Bradford was traveling Eastbound on Oliver Road and struck the ATV operated by Ralph Hartle of Greenville while he was making a left turn into a private driveway.

Hall was transported to Wayne HealthCare with possible injuries. Two juvenile passengers in Hall’s vehicle were uninjured.

The Darke County accident reconstruction team also responded to the scene. This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
