New Urgent Care practice slated to open March 1

GREENVILLE — A new urgent care medical facility is slated to open in Greenville this spring.

A March 1 opening is scheduled for Access MD Urgent Care, part of Dayton Outpatient Center. The practice will be located in the old Bob Evans Restaurant at 1403 Wagner Avenue.

The former Bob Evans building and land has sat vacant since the new restaurant location at 1366 Wagner Avenue opened in December 2010.

The .803-acre property at 1403 Wagner was purchased Feb. 2, 2015, for $285,000. Prior to the sale, ownership of the property was held under a number of real estate limited liability companies owned by Bob Evans Farms.

Dayton Outpatient Center currently operates three other urgent care locations in Dayton, in addition to an outpatient surgery center, MRI/CT scanners, and extensive physical therapy, pharmacy, cosmetic and aesthetic businesses. The company also operates six pain clinics in the Miami Valley, including ones in Dayton, Dayton Mall, Huber Heights, Troy, Springfield and Good Samaritan North locations.

Dr. Suresh Gupta, president of Dayton Outpatient Center, will be running a pain clinic from the Greenville location. There will also be a specialty suite in the same building shared by other doctors.

“We’ve been planning this for a long time,” said Gupta. “Greenville is a great community. We have patients from Greenville that we see every day in our practices [in Dayton].”

“My patients in Greenville have a long way to drive, so we are reaching out to patients there instead of having them drive so far,” he explained.

Patients will be able to be seen at the urgent care part of the practice on a walk-in basis. Those visiting the pain center portion will need a referral from the patient’s primary care physician or specialist. He said the practice is likely to be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the start.

Gupta says he plans on seeing patients in Greenville two days per week starting out, but hopes to provide a full-time presence in the future. He also said he would like to offer occupational care and alcohol and drug testing services for local businesses.

The facility will be staffed by Dr. David Miranda, who currently works at one of Dayton Outpatient Center’s urgent care facilities in Dayton. Dr. Miranda has been with the company since 2010.
