Sweeping wins for Darke County issues

DARKE COUNTY – Every Darke County issue on the ballot Tuesday was approved by the voters, including the two library renewal levies.

Greenville Public Library’s 1-mill renewal levy for current operating expenses passed handily, with 4106 in support of the levy (64.96 percent) and 2215 opposing the levy (35.04 percent).

Arcanum area voters passed the 1-mill renewal levy for current expenses for Arcanum Public Library. The levy passed with 1298 for the levy and 619 against (63.71 percent to 32.29 percent).

The biggest winning margin in Darke County was for Versailles Exempted Village School District’s four-year, 1 percent renewal income tax. 1,527 ballots were cast in favor of the levy (69.25 percent) compared to 678 in opposition to the levy (30.75 percent).

Gettysburg Village passed an additional, 3-mill continuing levy to support emergency medical services. According to the unofficial vote tally from Tuesday night, which does not include provisionals cast, 67 voted for the levy and 39 against (63.21 percent to 36.79 percent).

Adams Township voters passed an additional 3-mill, five-year levy for fire and emergency medical services, with 351 voting for the levy and 305 against (53.51 percent to 46.49 percent).

The 0.35-mill renewal levy for maintenance of the Butler Township cemeteries was passed, with 296 for the levy and 167 against (63.93 percent to 32.29 percent).
