GETTYSBURG — Darke County Deputies are still investigating an accident early Sunday morning when a Bradford man lost control of his car and went off a roadway.

On Sunday, Aug. 14 at 12:54 a.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Gettysburg Fire Department and Gettysburg Rescue, responded to the single-vehicle, injury accident in the area of Gettysburg Pitsburg and Yount Roads.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Richard Dillon Medrano, 22, of Bradford Ohio, was traveling northbound on Gettysburg Pitsburg near Yount Road when he lost control of his 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, traveling off the left side of the roadway, striking a guardrail. After striking the guardrail, the vehicle went airborne before hitting a ditch and flipping the vehicle multiple times. The vehicle then struck a utility pole and came to rest on its side.

Medrano and his passenger, Katherine Besecker, 19, of Arcanum, were transported to Wayne HealthCare for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Medrano was issued a citation for the accident.
