BRADFORD — A New Carlisle man lost his life Saturday after the motorcycle he was driving hit a utility pole.

On October 15 at 7:55 p.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Gettysburg Fire, Bradford Fire, Bradford Rescue, and the Darke County Coroner’s Office responded to the 8500 Block of Horatio Harris Creek Rd. on a injury accident.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, driven by John Shingler, 58, of New Carlisle was east bound on Horatio Harris Creek Road. The motorcycle went off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole, Shingler was pronounced dead at the scene.

This accident remains under investigation.
