Blazer overturns in accident

GREENVILLE — Several people were treatment for minor injuries after an accident caused a Chevy Blazer to overturn.

On October 23, at 1:35 p.m. Darke County Deputies, along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the intersection of U.S. Route 127 and Childrens Home Bradford Road in reference to a two-vehicle accident. The original dispatch advised that one vehicle rolled.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1996 Chevy Blazer, driven by Starla Bowers, 51, of Union City, Indiana, was westbound on Childrens Home Bradford Road. Bowers pulled through the intersection at Route 127 and was hit by a 2006 Dodge Caravan, driven by Jonathan White, 37, of Troy, Ohio, which was southbound.

Bowers vehicle overturned on its side from the impact of the two vehicles. Bowers and her minor child passenger both climbed out of the vehicle as emergency units arrived. White had two adult passengers and two minor children in his vehicle. All subjects were treated at the scene by Greenville Township Rescue, but refused transport to the hospital.

Bowers was issued a citation for Failure to Yield at a Stop Sign.
