DARKE COUNTY — Incumbent R. Kelly Ormsby III defeated Dave Rohrer in the race for Darke County Prosecuting Attorney.

In unofficial results posted by the Darke County Board of Elections, with 100 percent of the precincts reporting in, Ormsby led Rohrer by a substantial margin, possessing 71.58 percent (12,381 votes) of the vote to Rohrer’s 28.42 percent (4,915 votes).

Ormsby, a Republican, has served as the county’s prosecuting attorney since 2009. Rohrer, running as an independent, is a former Darke County assistant prosecutor and serves as a criminal defense attorney in Greenville.

“I feel very thankful to the voters of Darke County that are willing to trust me as their prosecutor for the next four years,” said Ormsby.

Ormsby also expressed his thanks to those who aided his campaign.

“I’m very thankful for those people who volunteered to help me out — Rep. Jim Buchy, Darke County Sheriff Toby Spencer, who made calls on my behalf, and all the others who volunteered to walk around neighborhoods and hand out literature.”

He also wished to thank his staff at the Darke County Prosecutor’s Office.

“I’m thankful for my employees, the people who work with me, they do a good job,” he said. “Obviously, if they weren’t doing their job, I wouldn’t have been reelected.”
