Poultry Days gets underway Friday


VERSAILLES — The 64th annual Poultry Days festival is slated for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

However, things actually begin happening there even before that, with set-up of vendors and various tents for concessions and other activities as well as registration for a few shows, including art, photography and flower entries.

The festival theme is “Take Me Out to Poultry Days.”

Registration for the art and photography show will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Then, the photography show registration will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and again on Thursday, from 1 0 a.m. to 1 p.m. All of these will be in the multi-purpose building.

Here is the schedule of events for this year’s festival:

Friday, June 12

9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Flower show registration

Noon Miss Chick contest (personal interviews)

Noon to 2 p.m. Vendor tents – set-up (only if necessary)

Noon to 8 p.m. Friends of the Library book sale, Worch Memorial Library

1 p.m. Flower show judging (open class), bus driver meeting room

1 Annual Poultry Days Golf Scramble, Stillwater Valley Golf Course

3 to 8 p.m. Art and Photography Show – multi-purpose building

3 to 8 p.m. Flower Show – bus driver meeting room

3 to 11 p.m. Food, concessions, rides and carnival booths in operation

3 to 11:30 p.m. Social Tent in operation

3 to 4 p.m. On The Radar, Social Tent

3:30 to 8 p.m. Drive and walk-thru barbecue chicken (or sell out)

4 to 9 p.m. Vendor tents – north parking lot

4:30 to 7 p.m. The MicStand Band – Social Tent

5:30 p.m. Mister and Miss SuperFit Challenge – instructions – high school track
