DARKE COUNTY — An early morning accident involving two vehicles south of Greenville claimed the life of a motorist Sunday.
At approximately 2:36 a.m., Darke County Sheriff’s deputies, along with New Madison Fire and Tri-Village Rescue, were dispatched to the intersection of U.S. Route 127 and Hogpath Road in reference to a two-vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2003 Ford Taurus was westbound on Hogpath Road approaching the intersection at U.S. Route 127 when it failed to stop at the posted stop sign. The Ford Taurus then struck a utility pole and a group of trees before coming to rest. Stone’s vehicle overturned onto the driver’s side before coming to rest.
The driver of the Ford Taurus, identified as Kristen N Lee, 27 of Arcanum, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Stone sustained minor injuries and refused treatment by Tri-Village Rescue at the scene.
