GREENVILLE — Seven people were arraigned on a variety of criminal charges Monday in Darke County Common Pleas Court.
Magan R. Plessinger, 30, of Greenville, was arraigned on charges of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, a third-degree felony, and endangering children, a first-degree misdemeanor. She was represented in court by defense attorney Dave Rohrer. If convicted on all counts, she faces up to three and a half years in prison and a fine of up to $11,000. Her next court date is September 11. Plessinger is free on bond.
Criston S. Walden, 20, of Greenville, pleaded not guilty to a fifth-degree felony charge of aggravated possession of drugs. If convicted, she faces up to a year in prison and a maximum fine of $2,500. She was represented by Rohrer. Her next court hearing is August 28. Walden is free on her own recognizance.
David L. Stephens, 36, of Hollansburg, was arraigned on two fourth-degree felony charges — grand theft of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property — as well as a first-degree misdemeanor count of driving under suspension, and two first-degree misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence. He was represented by Rohrer. If convicted on all counts, he could spend up to two and a half years in prison and pay fines of more than $10,000. His next court appearance is September 11. Stephens is free on bond.
Kathryn A. McAlister, 50, of Van Wert, was arraigned on a fourth-degree felony count of carrying a concealed weapon. If convicted of the charge, she could be sentenced to up to 18 months in prison and a fine of up to $5,000. Rohrer was her attorney. McAllister’s next court date is September 11. She is free on her own recognizance.
Joshua K. Mendenhall, 24, of Ansonia, was arraigned on a third-degree felony count of aggravated vehicular assault, and first-degree misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and falsification. If convicted, he faces up to three and a half years in prison and fines exceeding $10,000. The court appointed defense attorney Randall Breaden to represent him. His next court date is September 29. He is free on bond.
Lee F. Ware Jr., 47, of Greenville, pleaded not guilty to one third-degree felony count of aggravated drug trafficking, two fourth-degree felony charges of aggravated trafficking, and two fifth-degree felony counts of trafficking. If convicted on all counts, he faces up to six years in prison and a maximum fine of $17,500. Breaden was appointed to defend him. He is free on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for a September 29 court date.
Stanley I. Richards Sr., 78, of Ansonia, was arraigned on four felony counts of complicity to illegally transport scrap tires and illegal dumping of scrap tires. If convicted on all counts, Richards could face a mandatory two to four years in prison and a mandatory $10,000 to $25,000 fine. He is free on his own recognizance and will seek legal representation. His next court date is September 11.
