VERSAILLES – An elderly man became trapped underneath his riding mower on Friday evening after he suffered a medical emergency and passed away.

On Friday at 10:30 p.m. Darke County deputies along with Versailles Rescue and Versailles Fire were dispatched to 10646 Wolf Rd. on a male trapped under a lawn mower.

The preliminary investigation revealed that John Magoto, 78, of Versailles, had a medical emergency while mowing his yard. He fell off his mower and became trapped underneath.

This incident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office and the Darke County Coroner’s Office.
