DARKE COUNTY – An Arcanum teenager was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Monday near the intersection of U.S. Route 127 and Horatio-Harris Creek Road in Greenville.
At approximately 4:10 p.m. Monday, crews from Greenville Township Rescue, Greenville Township Fire and CareFlight along with Darke County Deputies were dispatched to U.S. 127 north of Horatio-Harris Creek Road outside of Greenville in reference to a two-vehicle accident with serious injuries. Arriving units found two vehicles on the east side of the roadway, one of which was located in a ditch.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2004 Buick LeSabre driven by Jarrod Archer, 18, of Arcanum, was traveling southbound on U.S. 127. Archer’s vehicle traveled into the northbound lane, striking the northbound 2012 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Angela Fahncke, 31, of Minster.
Both Archer and Fahncke were taken from the scene by Greenville Rescue. Archer was taken to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office where he was transferred to Miami Valley’s Careflight and taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Fahncke was taken to Wayne Hospital.
The accident is under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Department.
