ARCANUM – The kickoff meeting of the Arcanum Neighborhood Watch Program will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 in the Arcanum School cafetorium.

Organizers will discuss the purpose of the program and take any questions or concerns. A member of the Arcanum Police force will be in attendance.

The Neighborhood Watch Program is a group of concerned citizens who commit to report suspicious activity. As an example, drug activity observed in town was met with repeated calls to Darke County Dispatch. After no less than five visits by Arcanum and/or county officers, the problem moved out of town.

Arcanum Neighborhood Watch Program will need a block leader for each street in Arcanum.
