Old fashioned campfire planned at Shawnee Prairie Preserve

DARKE COUNTY – Community members can enjoy a special evening in the woods, circled around a warm, autumn campfire.

The last Darke County Parks campfire of the year will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at Shawnee Prairie Preserve.

Through stories, song and activities, guests will welcome in the coming season of snow. Participants will discover how the wildlife of Shawnee Prairie Preserve prepares for winter while listening to tall tales and legends.

Guests also will have some time for songs and roasting marshmallows at this naturalist-led free family event.

Guests are reminded to bring a chair, flashlight and dress for the weather.
