PALESTINE – A Palestine woman is in serious condition after the vehicle she was driving was struck by a Greenville man’s truck while he was under the influence.

On Saturday at 3:55 p.m. Darke County Deputies, along with Tri-Village Rescue, Liberty Township Fire and mutual aid from Greenville Township Rescue were dispatched to Palestine Union City Road at Ross Road in reference to the two-vehicle injury accident.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2005 Chevy 2500, driven by Jordan Gary, 23, of Greenville was eastbound on Ross Road and stopped at the stop sign at Palestine Union City Road. Gary then pulled from the stop sign, turning right on to Palestine Union City Road, and lost control of his vehicle and went left of center and struck a 2002 Chevy, driven by Lisa Miller, 54, of Palestine, which was northbound on Palestine Union City Road.

Gary and his passenger, Jess Brubaker of New Madison, both signed refusals for medical treatment.

Miller was extricated from her vehicle by Tri-Village Rescue and Liberty Township Fire. She was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight. Her two passengers, Bradley Miller of Palestine and Mark Hopkins, 4, of Hollansburg, were transported by Greenville Township Rescue and Tri-Village Rescue to Wayne HealthCare.

Miller is listed in serious condition at this time.

Gary was arrested for OVI and Aggravated Vehicular Assault.
