Crash injures 2, driver cited

GREENVILLE — Two people were transported for possible injuries following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday at the intersection of U.S. 36 and U.S. 127.

According to the crash report, Lyle Frederick Wenzl, 76, of Vermillion, Kansas, was traveling west on U.S. 36 and turned south onto the ramp to enter U.S. 127 when he failed to yield to an eastbound vehicle on U.S. 36, driven by Carrie M. Barga, 32, of New Weston. Barga’s vehicle struck Wentzl’s in the passenger side.

Barga was transported by Greenville Township Rescue to Wayne HealthCare for possible injuries. Marylyn A. Wenzel, 75, of Vermillion, Kansas, the passenger in the Wenzl vehicle, was transported by Gettysburg Rescue to Wayne HealthCare for possible injuries.

Both vehicles had disabling damage. Lyle Wenzl was cited for failure to yield the right of way when turning.
