PIQUA — The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in identifying two suspects in a theft at a Piqua school.
On Tuesday, two females entered the Springcreek Primary School on U.S. Route 36 during school hours. They entered the school during dismissal time when parents pick up students. Additionally, parents were picking up food from a Market Day fundraiser during dismissal as well.
The two suspects entered two classrooms and stole two purses. Credit cards from the purses were later used at several businesses in Piqua.
A third female suspect is believed involved as she was seen on video leaving the Piqua Walmart where some of the credit card transactions occurred.
Suspects were in a newer model red Toyota sedan, possibly a Camry or Corolla. The vehicle appears to display a 45-day Ohio temporary tag.
Anyone with information on the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Deputy Chase Underwood at 937-440-6085 extension 7015 or the Miami County Communication Center at 937-440-9911.
