GREENVILLE — At approximately 6:15 a.m. Tuesday morning, an office employee of Spirit Medical Transport, LLC, overheard a scuffle in the south parking lot of Spirit’s Greenville office and went to the door to investigate.

Upon approaching the door, she immediately secured all accessible doors to the offices and alerted Spirit’s dispatch center to notify Greenville Police.

“We applaud the efforts of our employee for recognizing the disturbance and taking swift action to safeguard everyone inside the offices of Spirit Medical Transport,” President/CEO Brian K. Hathaway said Tori Penny, the female arrested on the suspicion of felonious assault, is an office employee of Spirit Medical Transport, LLC. Penny has been placed on administrative leave.

The Spirit executive team is fully cooperating with Greenville Police’s investigation into the incident. Hathaway applauded the quick actions of Greenville Police and the Darke County Sheriff’s Office for their immediate response.
