UNION CITY – Four people were arrested Saturday after officers spent over two hours trying to serve a warrant on a man for a domestic violence charge.

Officers from the Union City Ohio and Union City Indiana Police Departments responded to the 200 block of Taffy Court to serve a warrant on Dyllan Vanwicklin.

Vanwicklin had pending charges of domestic violence after an altercation in the early morning hours of Dec. 12. Officers responded to Vanwicklin’s apartment and spoke to several individuals who were able to help officers confirm that Vanwicklin was inside the apartment.

Officers knocked at the door several times and announced their presence and the individuals inside the apartment refused to answer. After two hours, the Union City Indiana SETT team was activated and responded to the scene. As the SETT team approached the apartment multiple audible commands were given to the occupants of the apartment. As the last audible request was given prior to the entry of the SETT team, the individuals exited the house and were taken into custody without incident.

Vanwicklin was booked on the active warrant and for domestic violence. Amber Helton, Kelsey Ward, Joseph Martin and Austin Lee Archer-Welker were all charged with obstructing official business.
