COLUMBUS – Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced Thursday the provisional ballot report for the November 2015 General Election reveals 84.63 percent of provisional ballots cast were validated and counted by the county boards of elections.

“The number of provisional ballots we need on Election Day is shrinking and the likelihood of a provisional ballot being verified and counted is on the rise,” Secretary Husted said. “This is good news for voters as we are running more efficient elections, counting more ballots on Election Day and working with voters to cut out confusion and build confidence in our democracy.”

Under Secretary Husted, 86.75 percent of provisional ballots were counted from 2011-2014 (first term). This is a 3.5 percent improvement over the previous administration.

There were 562,871 provisional ballots cast under the eight primary and general election cycles of the previous administration. This represents more provisional ballots cast in the 10 election cycles administered by Secretary Husted, 478,978.

The Absentee Ballot Report for the November 2015 General Election is also now available.
