GREENVILLE — The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Monday afternoon to discuss various upcoming construction projects throughout the county. Commissioners Matt Aultman and Larry Holmes were present. Mike Stegall was absent.

To start, the board unsealed and received bids from six different contractors for a detention pond pipe outlet replacement in Union City. Due to the project being classified as critical infrastructure, part of it will be funded through the Ohio Development Services Agency; in addition, the county has committed some revolving loan funds and Union City is contributing $35,000 for the proposal. The current estimate for the project is $288,500. The unsealed bids are to be reviewed by Union City Village Council and Motes & Associates, which is engineering the project.

The board approved a 2021 Standard Agreement for Professional Services between the commissioners and Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. Consulting Engineers for the design phase and professional engineering of a new terminal at The Darke County Airport. This project will be paid for with federal funds from the Federal Aviation Administration and a grant from the Ohio Department of Transportation – Office of Aviation. The agreement states the project shall not exceed $90,000.

The board selected and approved a quote submitted by Rick Lee, Darke County Facilities and Safety Manager, to replace the front door at the Juvenile Court front entrance. The estimated quote that was accepted is $3,350.50 from Darke County Contractors.
