GREENVILLE — The Darke County Republican Women’s Club (DCRWC) will host a panel discussion regarding Ohio House Bill 248 (H.B. 248) featuring Ohio Reps. Rodney Creech (co-sponsor of the bill), Susan Manchester and Jena Powell Monday, June 14, at 6 p.m., in the Shawnee Nature Center, 4267 State Route 502, Greenville.

Creech is from Preble County and represents District 43. Manchester is from Logan County and represents District 84, which includes the northern part of Darke County. Jena Powell is from Darke County and represents District 80, which includes the southern part of Darke County. All three Representatives are Republicans.

“As a result of COVID-19, there are many new possibilities for legislation and this gives the public a challenge in trying to keep up with what is going on locally, statewide and nationally. H.B. 248 has been proposed in Ohio and is currently in committee. This program will provide a chance for residents to weigh in and express their thoughts on the proposed legislation.” said Jaime LeVeck, DCRWC President.

H.B. 248 was introduced by Rep. Jennifer Gross (R-52) and co-sponsored by Creech to ensure Ohio residents continue to have a choice regarding COVID-19 vaccinations and that they are in no way discriminated against, or denied services, because of that choice. The bill is currently being heard by the House Health Committee, of which Manchester is a member.

The program is free and does not require reservations. The Club offers an optional dinner prior to the speaker’s program at a cost per person of $10 for those who would like to attend and have made reservations for the meal. Dinner reservations must be made Thurs., June 10, prior to 12 noon, by calling Wavelene Denniston at 937-547-6477 or emailing her at [email protected]
