GREENVILLE — The Darke County Park District’s January Park P.A.L.S. program will feature winter explorations on Jan. 9.

Park P.A.L.S. is a series of monthly programs designed for students in grades K-2 who are interested in nature. P.A.L.S. stands for Practicing And Learning Stewardship, and its mission is to develop future earth stewards through meaningful educational opportunities and hands-on experiences in the natural world.

Join a naturalist from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 9, at Shawnee Prairie Preserve on State Route 502 just west of Greenville to see what winter has to offer.

Will it be snowy and cold or a mild winter? Time will tell. Either way participants will hit the trails to see what this year’s winter has brought us.

Preregistration is required, and there is a $3 materials fee. Call or stop by the Nature Center today to sign your child up. The Nature Center can be reached at (937) 548-0165.
