CELINA – As a mutual bank, Mercer Savings Bank has always been deeply rooted in the communities it serves and, as part of that, believes that reinvesting in those communities should be a large part of its mission.

Through their Giving Mission, each month three employees will be selected to choose a charitable organization to receive a $200 donation. Employees are requested to choose organizations that exemplify the values of the bank as a whole.

Brittany Lochtefeld chose St. Anthony Dinner Theater.

“I decided to choose the St. Anthony Dinner Theater because I was involved in their plays throughout high school, and I have seen firsthand the amount of work that goes into these productions, as well as what they do for families in need around the Mercer County area,” Lochtefeld said.

Cindy Schmidt chose the Guardian Angel Program.

“I chose the Guardian Angel Program at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church to receive my Giving Mission gift to help young people in the Coldwater Cluster be able to attend the Steubenville Youth Conference,” Schmidt said.

The Steubenville Youth Conference is a high-energy youth conference where thousands of teens are invited to encounter Jesus Christ through speakers, music, the Sacraments, small group discussions and fellowship with other teens. Every year youth from the Coldwater Cluster travel to Steubenville and encounter the Lord in a new and profound ways. This year the conference will be held June 14-16 with 43 local youth attending. All Guardian Angel Donations go directly to the youth to help offset costs.
