GREENVILLE – The Darke County Visitors Bureau and Main Street Greenville are pleased to announce the addition of a summer intern. Amber Barga, of Versailles, will join the office throughout the summer.

Ryan Berry, executive director of both organizations, praised the addition, “Amber is ambitious and has shown an eagerness to promote our local attractions as well as serve our downtown businesses.”

Barga, a graduate of Versailles High School and a student at Wright State University, will have the opportunity to learn how non-profit organizations work, as well as getting hands-on experience in many of the aspects it takes to run these organizations, including fundraising, promotion and event creation.

Barga said, “I am very excited to see what this internship brings and to learn about all things Darke County! In my two weeks with the Darke County Visitors Bureau and Main Street Greenville, I have met so many people and have been able to see how busy Downtown Greenville can get, especially during First Fridays.” Barga continued, “It is my hope that the knowledge I gain from working with our Executive Director, Ryan Berry, and other leaders in the community will help me in future positions. I am looking forward to seeing how much enthusiasm I can create on social media for our community as I gain valuable marketing experience in this position, and I cannot wait to see what I will learn next about nonprofit work! I am optimistic that this will be a great summer!”

Throughout the summer, Barga will be a very visible face of both organizations as she will help promote Darke County’s festivals and events and will be a key team member in planning Main Street Greenville’s First Fridays.
