In Darke County Common Pleas Court recently, Judge Jonathan Hein sentenced the following:

-Stephen Garner Jr., 34, of Ansonia, was sentenced to 60 months probation and ordered to pay victim restitution of $4,376.85 for passing bad checks, a fourth-degree felony (F-4).

-Terry Strohmenger, 43, of Piqua, was convicted of driving while under the influence, F-4, and was sentenced to 63 days in jail with 37 days credit, fined $1,350 and ordered to complete 75 hours of community service.

-Tina M. Mitchum, 51, of Union City, Indiana, was convicted of complicity to theft, F-5, and complicity to misuse of a credit card, F-5. Charges were merged, and she was sentenced on the latter charge to seven days in jail with one day of credit and work release, victim restitution of $1,004.78, and 75 hours of community service.

-Betty L. Harter, of Greenville, was convicted of illegal use of SNAP/welfare benefits, F-4, and was sentenced to two days in jail, ordered to pay victim restitution of $5,914.83 and complete 20 hours community service. David A. Harter, of Greenville, was convicted of attempted illegal use, a first-degree misdemeanor (M-1), and received the same sentence.
