AUGLAIZE COUNTY – Sheriff deputies arrested two men Monday for separate crimes involving burglary and out-of-state sex charges.

Deputies and detectives arrested Dustin R. Bradley, 31, of Anna on Monday morning after finding him inside a residence at 2100 Celina Rd. in St. Marys.

The resident had reported past burglaries to the home while they were away. The Sheriff’s Office did surveillance on the residence and were there when Bradley entered the home at approximately 8:30 a.m. He arrested him without incident.

It is believed that Bradley is responsible for other burglary incidents in the St. Marys and New Bremen area and those cases are also being investigated by the Sheriff’s Office.

“Our guys did a great job on this and went the extra mile to try and catch who was responsible for this. It is great when things work out to catch the bad guy and help the victims in these cases,” said Sheriff Solomon.

St. Marys Police Dept. assisted at the scene.

Bradley remains in the Auglaize County jail on a $50,000 bond.

Detectives arrested a second man, John A. Wachauf, 58, after they were contacted by authorities from Buchanan County, Virginia on a warrant for Computer Solicitation of a Minor under the age of 15.

The charges stem from an ongoing investigation by Virginia law enforcement.

Wachauf was taken into custody without incident at his home at 16920 State Route 116 in St. Marys. A search warrant was also executed at the residence in search of computers and related equipment.

Other items found at the residence during the execution of the search warrant are being investigated for additional charges in Auglaize County.

One of the items located may result in local charges is approximately 20 pounds of suspected marijuana.

Detectives were assisted by Allen County Sheriff’s Office and Lima Police investigators with the arrest and search. These investigators work specifically with electronic media searches and equipment. The Auglaize/Mercer County Grand Lake Drug Task Force also assisted with the search of the residence.

Wachauf remains in the Auglaize County Correctional Center awaiting extradition to Virginia.
