Subway robbery suspect jailed in Dayton OVI incident

TROY — The Troy Police Department’s detective division has announced the man who allegedly robbed the 15 S. Dorset Subway store at knife point on Saturday was arrested in Dayton on Monday evening.

According to Capt. Jeff Kunkleman, Anthony Morgan, 56, of Versailles, was arrested by Dayton law enforcement following a traffic accident in Dayton on Monday evening.

According to reports, Morgan has been charged with an OVI after he crashed his vehicle into a home in the Dayton area. He was transported to a local hospital and is incarcerated in the Montgomery County Jail.

Capt. Kunkleman said Morgan will be charged with first degree felony aggravated robbery.

The victim was not harmed in the robbery. Morgan placed his hand on the victim’s shoulder and brandished a knife during the incident around 10:40 a.m. Saturday.

Troy Police Department released surveillance video of the robbery Monday morning. Kunkleman said dozens of leads from the public helped locate Morgan.
