Sweet & Sassy: Viewing vehicles on vacation

By Linda Moody

My first vacation of the year has me hoping I will find me a more dependable vehicle.

I really don’t know what I want, but plan to do some shopping this coming week. I hate to get rid of the car I have now, but I know it’s on its last “legs,” because three reliable mechanics have told me so and I trust each of them.

I am going to miss the heater my old car has but surely there are others out there of the same caliber. It’s the best heater I’ve ever had in a vehicle, though.

Hopefully, I will be led in the right direction as to the right car, SUV, pickup truck, hearse, bicycle or motor scooter or whatever else is drive-able in that week’s time.

I just pray my next vehicle will be affordable, dependable for a long time coming, somewhat low on mileage and is easy to handle. Hopefully it won’t be hard for me to get adjusted to it. You know how technology and other newfangled devices change all of the time. Don’t know if I can handle that.

Lord knows my old car has nickel and dimed me all summer long to the present. But, I just kept thinking each new “fix” would suffice and it would get better. But, it didn’t.

It’s going to be hard to say goodbye to the old and just as hard to get used to the newer vehicle I will surely be able to find.

I just love changes in my life…NOT always.

See you next week if not before. If I find what I want, I may just toot my horn at you as I pass by; that is, if I can find it.
