This week we have several congratulations for this busy community. Congrats to you Rylee Sagester who finished as runner up in a national Hoop Shoot in Chicago recently! She operated in the 10-11 year old girls division at the Elks National Shoot contest. And she operated with precision, making 23 of 25 free throws to tie for first place before slipping to second to a young lady from Nebraska.

Happy Anniversary! It is the golden year for Bob and Buena Baker. The day was May 8 back in l966. They were in the Philippines. They plan a family cruise to the Caribbean Islands. The couple has three children, Cheryl Salyer, Suzanne Gagnon and Mark Baker. There are seven grandchildren.

A tip of the hat to Martha Skidmore! She was named teacher of the year at Tri-Village. Martha teaches sixth graders with love and respect and I join many community residents in applauding her work. She competes with teachers from the other Darke County Schools and a county winner will be named May 17.

Congratulations to Tom Renfro. He recently announced the release of a new single from his upcoming album titled When Mountains Shake.

This release is titled Miss You and is dedicated to the memory of his father, Matt, who taught over 30 years at Tri-Village. Information on the release is available at www.tommyrenfro.com, as well facebook.

A royal bow to the newest king and queen at Tri-Village. Brooklyn Godown and Knox Morris were chosen prom king and queen of the event. The junior royalty included Chloe Clark and Jonny Wilson as princess and prince.

This will be a busy month with graduations and Memorial Day. Our youngest granddaughter graduated this past week end from Sinclair.

It is such an important step so wish all high school and college grads congratulations. They have a complex future to maneuver but each generation takes up the challenge.

Lets hope for sunshine and birds and tiny seeds poking through the earth.
