Versailles News: Old enough to laugh about it

0

Does our sense of humor improve with age or do we become grumpy old people? There’s never a shortage of jokes poking fun of various segments of the population. Over the years, we’ve heard and told popular knock knock jokes, ethnic jokes, blonde jokes, even the occasional dirty joke…but now the joke just might be on us.

It’s been said that laughter is the best medicine. We know a good laugh is good for the soul and if a joke is really funny we enjoy sharing it with others. Hopefully these jokes help us laugh our way to a longer and healthier life. Afterall if we learn to laugh at ourselves we will have a lifetime of entertainment.

Life not only begins at 40, it begins to show.

Aging seems to be the only available way to live a long life.

Don’t worry about avoiding temptation — as you grow older, it starts avoiding you.

To me wrinkles are just antique smiles.

Few women admit their age. Few men act theirs.

How can I tell if I’m having a mid-life crisis when my whole life has been one crisis after another?

I don’t do drugs. At my age I get the same effect just standing up fast.

I don’t know how I got over the hill without getting to the top.

I finally got my head together, and my body fell apart.

I started out with nothing…I still have most of it.

I was always taught to respect my elders, but it keeps getting harder to find one.

If you’re as old as you feel, how can I be alive at 150?

I’m not old; I’m just a victim of gravity!

I’m not young enough to know everything anymore.

The irony of life is that by the time you’re old enough to know your way around, you’re not going anywhere.

Wrinkled was not one of the things I wanted to be when I grew up.

It is easier to get older than it is to get wiser.

I’ve only got one other speed and it’s slower.

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Lying about my age is easier now that I often forget what it is.

Middle age is when your age starts to show around your middle.

My memory is still perfect. I can even…now what was I saying?

No man is ever old enough to know better.

Old age comes at a bad time.

Old age is when you still have something on the ball, but you are just too tired to bounce it.

The older I grow the more I distrust the familiar doctrine that age brings wisdom.

The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Setting an example for your children takes all the fun out of middle age.

There is always a lot to be thankful for, if you take the time to look. For example, isn’t it nice that wrinkles don’t hurt?

Warning: dates in calendar are closer than they appear.

Are you laughing? Keep on smiling and find comfort in knowing we are all getting older at the same rate of speed—we just got started at different times. Don’t forget growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional and inside every one of us is a young person wondering what the heck happened.
