Thank you Arcanum Garden Club for all your hard work – the flower pots on the corners uptown are so beautiful and inviting to welcome everyone into to town. The flower boxes on the bridge on North Main Street are also lovely.

From the residents of this town, we are truly appreciative for all the time and hard it takes to continue the planting and watering of all the flower pots and flowers in the garden at the site of the old school and also in Ivestor Park around the gazebo. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank you to Butler Township trustees for the new sign at Beech Grove Cemetery on State Route 503 in Butler Township. This area formerly known as Beech Grove contained a cemetery, old school house, the Reformed Church and also a store. The second church remains but that is now a residence. The oldest stone in the cemetery is for Susannah Karn and was the first burial recording. There are around 15 different last names listed from the stones and burials: Henninger, Camblin, Gauby, Bobenmeyer, Karn, Shafer, Vogt, Long, Borger, Werkle, Bruss, Gebhart, Hileman, Bruss and Hursh.

AHS 1969 graduate, Dave Gray has been named interim commissioner of the Ohio High School Athletic Association following action by the OHSAA Board of Directors at a special meeting last week. Congrats! He is now an Olympian — Tri-Village grad Clayton Murphy won the 800 meters at the US Olympic Trials and will travel to Rio for the upcoming international games.
