New Madison News: August will be busy

0

It is hard to believe but fair exhibits are being prepared, football is filling our calendars and lawns are getting that feel of “crunch.” The summer was fast at our house as I experienced a knee problem and arthroscopic surgery.

We did manage a week of vacation time but there were plenty of medical dates and physical therapy marked on our calendar. Still it has been a good summer with visits and patio time. And I have enjoyed my chocolate malt for the summer. Always a special treat!

Keep in mind the football shirts and hats to celebrate the Patriot team. Contact the school for more information. Bengal season tickets have arrived and with them the annual hope of success — even through the playoffs.

I imagine the visits to Ohio will begin for both major campaigns for the November presidential election. Ohio is so important that there is plenty of opportunity to attend a gathering supporting your candidate. Personally I will be skipping those and also avoiding calls at dinner time to encourage voting for a candidate. But, as always, we will be voting.

So August will be busy. Enjoy the Olympics with our own Clayton Murphy, enjoy sausage sandwiches and corn dogs at the fair, and get set for the thrill of a football team in red, white and blue.
