DARKE COUNTY — The election to be held on September 13 for the entire county is a Special Congressional Primary Election (Democratic Party only) in Ohio’s 8th Congressional District.

Democratic candidate, Corey Foister, nominated for the 8th Congressional District in the March Primary, withdrew from the race. Steven Fought filed a petition to fill the vacancy, petition was certified and he is the candidate who will be nominated for the full term 8th Congressional District to the November General election.

“Even though this election is a Democratic Party only, any registered voter may vote for the candidate, with the understanding that you will be a registered Democrat voter until the next Primary election in your jurisdiction,” explained Becky Martin, Darke County Board of Elections.
