Sweet & Sassy: What will Tuesday bring?

0

Believe me, I am not a fan of politics. I, myself, am in favor of whoever and whatever is for the good of the people.

This year’s campaign seems to have everyone on edge and disgruntled, but I say put it in God’s hands. Pray that it will be run honestly and that the best person wins and continues on with his/her term in a respectable manner.

It’s too bad things went as far as they did in the race for U.S. President in 2016. Hopefully, voters will give deep thought to the candidates and issues they see on the ballot this year and take their right to vote seriously.

Bringing up the flaws of the opponent doesn’t get anybody anywhere and this year, especially, messed it up for those considering either side. How do voters know what’s true and isn’t? If they’re like me, they don’t have time to investigate every issue or every person or every accusation.

Yet, people keep on with the mud-slinging, whether the accusations are true or not.

What a cruel nation we have become. How are our children and grandchildren going to handle future elections after listening to this year’s bantering of the candidates and their supporters?

I love this nation and want to continue with our freedoms, which means that some laws that have come to be need to be reversed, taking things back to the way they were…back to the basics.

I’m nobody….but please do what’s right in your heart when you go to the polls Tuesday. I don’t want me or my family and friends to live in fear.

I just happened to see this on a post on Facebook a little bit ago: “If all Republicans were like Reagan and all Democrats were like JFK, this country would be going places.” Sounds good to me, but then, like I said, I’m not a political person.

Hopefully our new President will love God, love America, love us and do what’s best for its people. (As I am finishing this on Wednesday night, Tim McGraw sings his song “Humble and Kind” in the background on the Country Music Awards. It won song of the year. How appropriate. This song inspires me so and hope it does all Americans on Election Day.)
