The Pitsburg Church of the Brethren will present The Christianaires Quartet Concert on Sunday, August 6 at 6 p.m. The Christianaires’ music is a blend of the kinds of music that reaches the heart and positively communicates the message of Jesus Christ; from a distinct Southern Gospel sound to the precious old hymns of the church; their music is presented with deep sincerity and warmth of spirit. They are genuine in their love for Jesus Christ, committed to the ministry of the Christian message, and effective in their presentation of scriptural truth through gospel quartet music that reaches the heart and honors God. Pitsburg COB is located at the west edge of Pitsburg at 8376 Pitsburg-Laura Road.

The Arcanum High School Band was at Bluffton College last week for Band Camp. Reports were received that they have been working hard and are learning their new halftime show “Under Construction”. They also have a new color guard this year and will practicing for the Darke County Fair Band Show and the upcoming football season once they return home. Show them some support this year during the fair at the A# Tent!

Where are they now? I recently connected with another Arcanum graduate, Emily (Strayer) Otto, class of 2004. Emily now lives in South Carolina with her family. She moved there to attend Coastal Carolina University where she graduated with a degree in Education. A few years ago, Emily received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Grand Canyon University. Meanwhile, she also became intrigued by the emergent coastal housing market. She then decided to pursue her real estate license. When the right opportunity came along, Emily seized it with conviction and is making real estate her full-time career with RE/MAX Southern Shores. Emily is proud of her heritage, born and raised in the great state of Ohio, an Ohio State Buckeye Fan that looks forward to her new career with the same dedication she did to sports while she was a Trojan at Arcanum High School. Congratulations Emily!
