My wife Sharon and I moved to Darke County in 2007. I can’t count the number of times that we have heard comments about the importance of our young people remaining in Darke County to live, work and raise their families.

This letter is written to support Matthew “Matt” Aultman for Commissioner in Darke County. Matt is a humble man that has built his life, career and future in Darke County. He is a grain buyer at Keller Grain & Feed and farms the same ground as the previous four generations of Aultmans before him since the mid 1800’s. His wife Morgan is a teacher and mother to their two children.

Over the years, Matt has built a foundation of leadership in agriculture and traditional business.

Matt has always been an advocate for agriculture. He grew up participating in FFA and 4-H winning many awards. He continues his participation with 4-H as an advisor.

In 2012, Matt graduated a yearlong program with Ohio AgriPOWER, an elite leadership program designed specifically for farmers and agribusiness professionals. The AgriPOWER program focuses on public policy issues confronting agriculture and the food industry. Matt developed and honed the skills necessary to become an effective leader and advocate for agriculture. Matt currently serves as the president of the Darke County Farm Bureau.

Matt has served the Darke County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors since 2007 on various committees and progressed through all officer positions to his current position as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He understands the regulatory and workforce challenges that our Darke County businesses are facing. The Chamber has received two state awards for legislative advocacy for businesses under his chairmanship.

In addition to spending time with his family, Matt is a contributing columnist for a multi-county agriculture newspaper called “Rural Life,” he serves on an agriculture advisory board to Wright State Lake Campus, and is a member of the Darke County Fair Board. Learn more about Matt by watching the Ohio Farm Bureau Our Ohio-You Tube video “Seeds of Tradition.”

Matt Aultman has earned your vote because of his longstanding leadership in the county and now, leadership as a Darke County Commissioner.

Sincerely,

Wayne Deschambeau
