Franklin Monroe girls basketball team loses at Coldwater


COLDWATER – The Franklin Monroe girls basketball team lost 57-30 to Coldwater on Monday.

Coldwater took a 20-6 first quarter lead and led 28-11 at halftime. The Cavaliers extended their lead to 45-20 at the end of the third quarter before finishing with the 57-30 win.

Carrie Baker led Franklin Monroe with eight points in the loss. Also for the Lady Jets, Kinsey Goins scored seven points, Kennedy Morris scored six, Tara Goubeaux scored four, Allyson Masterson scored three, and Danielle McVey scored two.

Brooke Klosterman and Danielle Welsch led Coldwater with 13 points each in the game. Also for the Cavaliers, Kourtney Diller scored 10 points, Denise Schwieterman scored eight, Maura Hoying scored six, Olivia Harlamert scored four, Madie Schoenherr scored two, and Josie Luthman scored one.

Franklin Monroe fell to 2-16 with the loss while Coldwater improved to 8-9.

The Jets will play host to Newton on Thursday.
