“They’ve been doing real well all year,” Versailles coach A.J. Bey said of his team’s performance on Wednesday. “Obviously you’re going to wrestle a team with a tough kid on it. Hopefully you’ve got a tough kid in the weight class. All the kids wrestled pretty hard.”

Versailles now advances to compete against third-seeded Covington at 5 p.m. Feb. 3.

“That’s kind of how we figured we were going to face coming up,” Coach Bey said. “It’s going to be a tough match. They’ve got some real nice kids, and it’s going to come down to who is going to stay off their backs and not get the bonus points or who is going to get the bonus points. It’s going to be real tight.”
